Hello! My name is Juho and I’m a songwriter, guitarist, singer and music producer from Finland. I have been involved with music since I got my first guitar in 2002, and yet I find myself working on music in a way or another, more than ever. Metal music was my initial driving interest when I started and it is still the music style, which I’m the most enthusiastic about, while I find lighter genres more and more enjoyable every time I have a chance to work on them.
In my early years I gained most of my music production experience by writing, recording, mixing and mastering my own music. The main genre of my own music has been progressive, modern metal, but lately it has expanded to orchestral and production music as well as jazz, big band and electronic influenced music. This includes writing, recording, mixing and mastering dozens and dozens of song demos as well as several EPs and full length albums.
How I ended up becoming a mixing engineer was quite a natural path. I needed my own music to get mixed, so I thought “why I couldn’t just do it myself, it can’t be that hard?”. Well, as it turned out, it was! But like any other time I have found something unexplainably appealing and interesting to me, I became obsessed about it, in a good way. I’ve always found very fascinating how big of a difference can small moves make in a mix and what makes things sound good. While it’s definitely an ongoing process and I think about those things a lot whenever I listen something, developing a taste and a style has been the biggest factor in developing my skills.
During the recent years I’ve taken my passion and genuine enthusiasm towards music much more seriously by working more and more on it, and I can really tell it has developed my craft a lot within a relatively short period of time. In 2019 I started to offer my mixing and mastering services online and I have been very happy about all the positive feedback of my work from the people that I have been privileged to work with.
